Dyker Heights Christmas Lights

Every holiday season, a six-block area of Brooklyn's Dyker Heights neighborhood is transformed into a dazzling display of Christmas lights. From 83rd Street to 86th Street between 11th Avenue and 13th Avenue, you'll see everything from inflatable Santas to motorized light shows. Prime viewing time is between 7PM and 9PM daily, through Christmas.

The Muppets Christmas Event This Sunday

Calling all Muppet fans! Swing by Union Hall (702 Union Street) this Sunday for The Muppet Vault -- a monthly series featuring classic, rare, and unreleased videos from the Muppets, Sesame Street, and the works of Jim Henson. As per The New York Times' Dining Calendar, tonight from 5PM-8PM there will be free wine tastings with food and music at a number of stores which suffered from Hurricane Sandy:

Downtown Cellars, 55 Liberty Street (Nassau Street)
Frankly Wines, 66 West Broadway (Warren Street)
Royal Wine Merchants, 13 South William Street (Broad Street)
Rosetta Wines, 40 Exchange Place (William Street).

The shops will have boxes for donations of relief items.
