A Minimalist Art Exhibit In Chelsea

The current exhibit at Chelsea's Metro Pictures (519 West 24th Street) showcases the work of artist B. Wurtz, who uses everyday objects to create a "wryly beautiful, morally invigorating retrospective." That is, after all, according to a New York Times review which also notes the following about the installation:

Again and again, Mr. Wurtz’s work invites us to think about what we look at, and moreover what we look for, when we look at art. Then it gives us something slightly different, something equally visual, gratifying and, above all, charged with the deliberation and focus that are the essence of art.

Swing by Metro Pictures before the exhibit -- Works 1970-2011 -- closes on August 5th.
