Yipit: Customizing Deals Just For You
There are a lot of group purchasing sites that have popped up over the past few months -- Groupon, BuyWithMe and TheDealist are a few of the most popular. With so many deals out there, it's difficult to keep track of everything going on. Yipit is a brand new site that aggregates all of the deals out there and recommends specific deals to you according to your interests. For example: massages and manicures aren't my thing, but recent deals such as a coupon from Dinosaur BBQ and $1 movie tickets were right up my alley.
You can sign up for Yipit's e-mail list by clicking here.
Rather than getting seven e-mails from seven different sites every day, now you'll get just one. And the deals will be customized according to what you like do and where you like to hang out.

Recently, they started charging $5 for weekday rides, although it's still free on the weekends. Take advantage of the free service and head over to Red Hook for some Swedish meatballs today or any weekend this summer!

Event Horizon Art Exhibit In Madison Square Park
Recently Antony Gormley's Event Horizon was installed in Madison Square Park. It's a public art exhibit much more exciting than the Central Park gates or East River waterfalls if you ask me. This exhibit actually utilizes the city landscape, as 31 life-size iron bodies have been set up to inhabit the pathways and sidewalks of historic Madison Square Park, as well as Flatiron District rooftops. The next time you're standing in line for Shake Shake, marvel at the sites around you.

Cask Beer Festival In Park Slope This Weekend
All weekend long, The Gate (321 5th Avenue in Park Slope) will be hosting a it's second annual cask beer festival. More than 15 casks of unfiltered, unpasteurized beer will be available for purchase.
More and more bars throughout the city are starting to carry cask beers and this is a great opportunity to see what the fuss is all about. Many beer connoisseurs will point to the fact that cask conditioning enables malt and hop flavors to develop, resulting in a richer tasting drink with more character than standard keg. We tend to agree!
