Midtown's Best New Pizza (For $6!!)

Earlier this month, word spread that a "speakeasy" pizza place had set up shop in the upstairs level of a cafe in midtown Manhattan. Well that place is 57 Napoli Pizza e Vino (120 East 57th Street) and once word gets out, I guarantee you this 50-seat spot will be packed for lunch every day. The best part is... you can get a personal 10 inch pie until 3PM each day for just $6.00. Considering two slices at a sub par pizza place in Midtown will run you about $5.00 these days, this is a steal.

Check out a full review of the place on my pizza blog: I Dream Of Pizza.

Circus Elephants Walk Through Manhattan

Tonight, from 11:30PM until 2:00AM (tomorrow) the Manhattan bound side of the Queens Midtown Tunnel closes for elephants. Yes, elephants.

The circus is, in fact, coming to town.

A total of six Asian elephants, eight ponies, three stilt walkers, and a watusi (breed of long–horned steer) will arrive for their stint at Madison Square Garden as part of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The entourage will make its way westward across East 34th Street to MSG, so if you're in the area at that time... no you're not drunk. There really are circus animals marching down the street.

Those interested in viewing the procession are advised to wait on the Manhattan side of the tunnel at East 37th Street between Second and Third Avenues beginning around midnight.

St. Patty's Day Specials (That Don't Involve Drinking!)

Okay. Yesterday we compiled a list of St. Patty's Day drinking specials that can't be beat. Well there are also tons of free things you can do today that don't involve drinking (although we can't condone being sober on St. Patty's Day).

For starters, there's the St. Patrick's Day Parade which begins at 11:00AM and heads north on 5th Avenue starting at 44th Street.

After, head over to Brooklyn Bowl where there is FREE bowling all day long (4 person minimum per lane, 2 hour max). They'll also have Blue Ribbon crafted corned beef and cabbage for sale.

Finally, don't forget about Baja Fresh's free burrito promotion.

Where To Drink For CHEAP In NYC This St. Patty's Day

It's that time of year again! Our annual list of where to drink cheap on St. Patrick's Day in New York City. As many of you probably know, St. Patrick's Day is reason for most bars to cancel their happy hour specials and hike up their prices.

Fear not! We've complied a list of the best drink specials in town tomorrow. We've confirmed each of the deals below, but it's always a good idea to give the places a buzz before you head over to reconfirm. Also, keep an eye on this list -- hopefully we'll be expanding it as more deals come about (UPDATED, 3/17 @ 11:05 AM).

Happy St. Patty's Day!!

Southern Hospitality (1460 2nd Avenue) - By far the best special we could find! $2 Coors Light drafts, $3 Killians, $3 well drinks, $4 Jameson shots, and $5 Irish car bombs. It's worth dealing with the crowds for these prices. (212) 249-1001.

Jake's Dilemma (430 Amsterdam Avenue)- Head over to the Upper West Side for $3.50 drafts all night long. (212) 580-0556.

Dempsey's Pub (61 2nd Avenue) - This East Village watering hole will have specials all night long including $4 shots, $4 drafts, $12 pitchers, and $15 buckets of beer like Miller High Life and Rolling Rock. (212) 388-0662.

Mad River Bar & Grill (1442 3rd Avenue) - For those who want to get their drink on early in the day, this Upper East Side bar will be serving $3 domestic drafts, $4 pints of Guinness, and $5 Irish car bombs until 3PM. (212) 988-1832.

11th Street Bar (510 E 11th Street) - Avoid the crowds and head over to this bar where their normal happy hour will be in effect. That means $2 off drinks from 4PM - 9PM putting a pint of Guinness at a reasonable $4. (212) 982-3929.

Cheapshots (140 1st Avenue) - Drink enough of their $4.50 Guinness pints -- on tap all night long -- and you might start seeing leprechauns. 212-254-6631.

Bar None (98 3rd Avenue) - It ain't classy, but it's cheap! Rub arms with NYUers during this bar's daily happy hour which will be going on until 8PM. That's $3 Bud and Bud Light drafts for you. 212-777-6663.

Kabin (92 2nd Avenue) - It doesn't get much cheaper than $2 PBRs and $4 Bud drafts at this bar. Or maybe it does... all drinks are 2-for-1 until 8PM. 212-254-0204.

Stillwater Bar (78-80 E 4th Street) - Swing by this East Village bar for drink specials including $3.50 Magic Hat all night long. (212) 253-2237.

NEW DEALS:

Van Diemens (383 3rd Avenue) - Another deal for early starters. This Murray Hill bar will have $5 Jameson and $3 Guinness pints until 5PM. 212-532-1123.

Flight 151
(151 8th Avenue) - Head over to Chelsea for $2 drafts and $3 well drinks from 5PM - 7PM. 212-229-1868.

Stanton Public (17 Stanton Street) - This Lower East Side bar has $4 pints of Guinness all night long + $1 off all Irish whiskey and a late happy hours from 12AM - 2AM. 212-667-5555.

McKenna Pub (250 West 14th Street) - This Irish bar won't have any drink specials, but they'll be serving free corned beef and cabbage all day. Yum! 212-255-2889.

The Levee (212 Berry Street) - We realize there are no Brooklyn places on this list. That's because we assume most Brooklyn bars will be cheap enough for you regardless. But we'll show you some love by mentioning that the normal happy hour at this Williamsburg spot will be in effect -- $1 off all drinks from 5PM - 8PM. 718-218-8787.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure + $2 Beers @ Brooklyn Bowl
