Big Apple Barbecue Block Party In Madison Square Park

Vegetarians beware! The Big Apple Barbecue Block Party takes place today and tomorrow in Madison Square Park from 11AM-6PM. The event brings together the country’s top pitmasters who cook up their award-winning food for barbecue enthusiasts. The event itself is free, but food is $8 a plate. Check out all the details here.

Our favorite? The Salt Lick BBQ from Driftwood, Texas.

Oh, and to avoid long lines, we suggest getting there before noon.

the salt lick won't be there this year due to an injury in their 'cue family which will prevent them from making the trip up.

serious eats breaks down the competition.
