Circus Elephants Walk Through Manhattan

Tonight, from 11:30PM until 2:00AM (tomorrow) the Manhattan bound side of the Queens Midtown Tunnel closes for elephants. Yes, elephants.

The circus is, in fact, coming to town.

A total of six Asian elephants, eight ponies, three stilt walkers, and a watusi (breed of long–horned steer) will arrive for their stint at Madison Square Garden as part of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The entourage will make its way westward across East 34th Street to MSG, so if you're in the area at that time... no you're not drunk. There really are circus animals marching down the street.

Those interested in viewing the procession are advised to wait on the Manhattan side of the tunnel at East 37th Street between Second and Third Avenues beginning around midnight.
