Free Shows At Rockwood Music Hall
Rockwood Music Hall is one of my favorite small music venues in the city. One of the coolest things about it is that all shows are completely free. There's a one drink minimum and beers start around $5.00.
I'm telling you about Rockwood today because one of my favorite artists happens to be performing there this week. On Sunday, you should swing by and catch Army Of Me. You won't be disappointed.
You can view the complete upcoming schedule here.

"Swimming Pool" Exhibit at P.S. 1
Head out to P.S. 1 in Queens this weekend and see Leandro Erlich's Swimming Pool. Viewed from the first floor of the center's duplex space, it appears to be an ordinary swimming pool, but walk down to the bottom and you'll discover that's not quite the case.
The exhibit was suppose to close this weekend, but it's been extended a few months. There is a $5 suggested admission to the museum.

"Black Light" Photography Exhibit In Soho
Now through September 26th, swing by Deitch Projects' Black Light exhibit (76 Grand Street between Greene and Wooster). The photographs on display thurst the black male image, captured by means of light manipulation and digital technology, into focus. Enlisting the technical tenor of Hype Williams’ hip-hop videos from the 90’s, photographer Kehinde Wiley saturates his consummately styled subjects of Fulton Street Mall pedigree— caps flipped backward, wearing gear of New York legend— in “super rapturous light.”

Five "Must Try" Ice Cream Places For Under $4.00
I can't agree more with Time Out New York's "Must Try" ice cream places to hit up before summer ends. In fact, they even chose my favorite flavors at each place. Although I love Blue Marble, Griff's, Jacques Torres, and the Van Leeuwen truck... my favorite ice cream of the summer is the salted caramel pretzel at the Greene Ice Cream outside of The General Greene in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
It's a mere $2.00... and your life will never be the same.
