Happy Halloween!

Nothing beats Halloween in New York City. Especially on a Saturday night. If you don't mind crowds (okay... crowds may be an understatement), head down to the Village for one of the biggest spectacles of the year. Click here for info about this year's parade.

Tip: to avoid the mob-scene, head down to Spring Street and walk the parade route. It's the best view there is and you'll even get some exercise!

Let's Go Yanks! Some World Series Deals...

It's time for another World Series Championship here in NYC! If you weren't lucky enough to land tickets to a game, join your fellow New Yorkers at a bar in the city.

Swing by their With Love World Series party at Shorty's (576 9th Avenue) and you'll be treated to a "Shorty-sized" cheesesteak from 4PM until game time tonight.

You can also swing by Cornerstone Tavern, which will be serving up free shots every time the Yanks hit a homer during the Series. The way balls have been flying out of the new stadium this season, you might be in for some very long nights.

$2 Sliders At Mark Burger On St. Mark's

There's a lot of hype surrounding a few new burger places that have opened recently. According to AlwaysHungryNY, "with everyone obsessing over Bill’s Bar & Burger there is a sleeper that is going under the radar that may just be serving the best sliders in New York."

And that place is Mark Burger (33 St Mark's Place), which is serving up delectable $2 sliders. And as you can see below, they're quite sizable. One more accolade from GrubStreet: "it’s arguable that Mark Burger is operating at a more favorable taste-to-cost ratio than Bill’s is — their sliders are $2 a pop, and they’re worth every penny."

Convinced? Go get yourself some meat!

Free Tickets To County Of Kings @ The Public Theater

Last week, I saw a great performance at The Public Theater: County Of Kings.

This one man show was written and performed by Lemon Andersen, who takes the audience through a tough, yet poignant biographical account of growing up in Brooklyn. Weaving hard-edged drama with urban poetry, Lemon spins his own coming-of-age memoir while painting a vivid portrait of his difficult and sometimes humorous experiences growing up during the one of the most influential cultural movements of our time: the birth of hip-hop.

We'll be giving away 20 free pairs of tickets to this show for performances tomorrow (10/6) through Saturday (10/10). To enter, send your name, e-mail address, and the show date you'd like to attend with the subject line "County Of Kings" to
